I setup my new table router this week, ran a few test strips, honed the bit a little, and ran some bars from a nice new piece of Sugar Maple. This one is about 40-50 years old, has that "maple ribbon" and has such a light complexion that I might stain a few to add some character and see how that looks.
Here's one rough cut, pre-finished.
Very cool bars. I saw someone with these riding outside of Marquee video on College.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you'll ever make drop bars?
I will someday. The thing about making drops from wood is the time setting up the laminate jig correctly. drops have some complex curves.
